Chassis No.: JMYSNCT9A1U000797

Estimate: €250,000 - €500,000 EUR

  • Screen-used in 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) as Brian O'Conner's Candy Lime Green Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII
  • Stunt Car No. 1 of only four Evolutions constructed for the production by Eddie Paul Industries (El Segundo, CA), following Craig Lieberman's design and technical specifications
  • The only example prepared to full 330 hp output, fitted with genuine performance upgrades for dynamic stunt driving
  • Retains numerous production-specific features from filming, including stunt safety equipment, camera-rig mounting points, and screen-applied livery
  • Powered by Mitsubishi's 4G63 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four with all-wheel drive and a five-speed manual gearbox
  • Accompanied by Norwegian title documents
  • Accompanied by a written confirmation from Craig Lieberman stating that this chassis was used as Stunt Car No. 1
  • Featured in Craig Lieberman's behind-the-scenes video detailing the construction of the 2F2F Evolutions

The Evolutions presented a unique challenge. The Evo VII was not sold in the United States and was nearing the end of its model cycle; the Evo VIII, by contrast, would launch in the US shortly after the film's release. Mitsubishi therefore imposed a key requirement: the Evo VII used in the film had to resemble the forthcoming Evo VIII.

Eddie Paul Industries received four left-hand-drive Evo VIIs, originally finished in blue and diverted from an Austrian rally-team order. Converting them into "Evo VIII lookalikes" proved complex—particularly the rear lights. Mitsubishi could not provide pre-production Evo VIII components, so aftermarket clear-lens Lancer lights were sourced. These were not designed for the Evo's wide rear quarters, requiring the full reconstruction of the rear valance and explaining the noticeable spacing around the lights visible on screen.

Once the cars achieved the correct visual identity, the team selected a colour that would offer strong cinematic presence: Kosmic Kolor Candy Lime Gold. The shade was spectacular under lights, though difficult to repair quickly between takes—a challenge familiar to anyone who has worked with candy finishes.

All four Evolutions survived production and were later used for promotional events before passing into private hands.

This specific Evolution VII, chassis JMYSNCT9A1U000797, has been confirmed by Craig Lieberman as Stunt Car No. 1. It appears in multiple sequences throughout the film and is the only example upgraded mechanically, receiving enhanced turbocharging and suspension tuning for a verified output of 330 hp—making it the most performance-focused of the four cars. Each of the four Evolutions was built differently depending on its intended role: two featured neon lighting, one carried the Panasonic DVD player, and this car was the designated high-performance stunt unit.

The Evo VII is also among the most prominently featured vehicles in the entire Fast & Furious franchise, appearing on screen for nearly fifteen minutes. As one of Paul Walker's hero cars—and one which remained intact within the narrative—it is among the most desirable of the surviving franchise vehicles.

After filming, chassis 000797 is believed to have been used for promotional duties, during which it received Evo VIII seats and a later-style front bumper. Exported from the United States to Norway in 2007, the car appeared at numerous events before being acquired by Movie Cars Central in 2019. The original movie-used bumper was later rediscovered in a small Los Angeles workshop and has since been refitted, returning the car to its correct on-screen configuration.

Still displaying numerous production details from 2 Fast 2 Furious—including traces of its original blue paint visible in the boot and engine bay, as well as "FF3" stickers applied in several areas (suggesting the car may at one stage have been earmarked for Tokyo Drift)—this Paul Walker–driven Evolution VII is offered with its Norwegian title, customs documentation, a copy of its 2016 dyno test, and a Carfax report. Also included are text messages from Craig Lieberman confirming: "JMYSNCT9A1U000797 – Verified. Stunt #1."

A highly authentic and exceptionally significant screen-used car from one of the most influential automotive films of the twenty-first century.
