The Lamborghini Countach is an extreme Italian sports car produced from 1974 to 1990 and was always fitted with a V-12 engine. The Countach was a pioneer on many fronts for Lamborghini. It popularized the classic wedge shape that Lamborghini is known for and still begins as a starting point in production design today. It was the first model to utilize the scissor doors which became iconic for the company. However stylish the doors were, they were designed initially as a necessity because the width of the car made it almost impossible to exit the vehicle if you were parked in a regular parking stall.
The word Countach in Italian is meant to show astonishment and essentially translates to "Heavens." The name broke from Lamborghini tradition as all previous models were named after bulls or bull fighting. This Countach is an LP5000 Quattrovalvole model. It is one of 676 produced in an entire production run of 2,042 total. The LP5000 QV was fitted with the biggest engine produced by Lamborghini at the time. In 1985 these V-12s were bored and stroked to 5.2 liters and were fitted with four valves per cylinder. Manufactured in 1988, this V-12 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV is in beautiful condition. It is highly original and was factory equipped with gold wheels and $5,500 rear spoiler option.
The odometer reads in kilometers and has only 15,640 kilometers or 9,718 miles. It was sold new to the first and only owner by Lamborghini Montreal and was taken back on trade from that original owner 27 years later. This Countach was last serviced in 2013 and is ready to wow crowds with a shape that—even after all these years—can only be described as awesome.
