In 1929, Rolls-Royce introduced the Phantom II. Considerable expense went into the development of the Phantom II particularly in the chassis, which was a long departure from the chassis used on Phantom I. The drivetrain of the Phantom I was reengineered extensively as well, the 7.7 liter OHV inline 6-cylinder engine receiving a new Crossflow cylinder head to create more power and, more importantly, smoother power delivery. Unlike the Phantom I, however, the Phantom II used a transmission bolted directly to the engine, later incorporating syncromesh.

The Phantom II continued to employ 4-wheel servo-assisted brakes and the Bijur centralized lubrication system used on the Springfield-built Phantom I. A standard wheelbase Phantom II measured 150 inches, but Phantom II was also available on a sportier, 144-inch wheelbase variant called the "Continental." Only 1,281 Phantom II chassis were produced by the time production ceased in 1936. This 1930 Phantom II is of the 150-inch variety and is presented entirely in black with the exception of the chrome and stainless work.

The right-hand-drive interior is very inviting with a passenger area upholstered in cloth with a sunroof and the driver’s compartment upholstered in leather, each separated by a divider window. The interior is a lighter shade of brown and presents very well with only minor wear showing. Featuring fog lights and a single side-mounted spare tire, the car is complete with the factory build sheet and original factory luggage.
