Not all supercars are created equal. Some tout levels of luxury. Others possess less-than-super levels of build quality. The Porsche Carrera GT makes no compromise. The absolute best of Porsche engineering and design is purely focused into a beautifully disguised race car that can be driven on public roads. The Carrera GT is not merely race inspired but infused with Porsche racing heritage and collective motorsport technology. Decades of track-garnered knowledge combined with leading-edge technology work together for an unmatched experience. Devotion to driving the Carrera GT reaps considerable rewards.

Mounted just behind the driver is a 5.7-liter V-10 engine which creates 605 horsepower at a heady 8,000 RPM. Power is driver controlled via floor-mount pedals and a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine was originally developed for a canceled Porsche Le Mans prototype, and carries on its 10-cylinder shriek through a 2-chamber stainless-steel exhaust system. The monocoque chassis is comprised of carbon reinforced aluminum and plastic honeycomb for low mass and high strength. The 6.65-inch diameter clutch and 380mm brake rotors use ceramic composite technology.

The racing derived pushrod actuated inboard suspension works with 5-spoke ultralight forged magnesium wheels for 0-to-60 MPH in just 3.7 seconds and a 205 MPH top speed. The Carrera GT carries the heritage and design of the groundbreaking Porsche-designed Auto Union Type C, the never-built Porsche Type 114 V-10 mid-engine concept and the race-proven Porsche 917 series. This modern archetype is an example of performance form meeting a high level of precision function. Recent knowledge from the Porsche Le Mans program translated into the carbon fiber and aluminum subframe. The motorsport safety-spec reinforced open cockpit features removable carbon-fiber roof panels.

Ground effects work with under-floor rear diffuser venturi flow channels and auto-deploying rear spoiler help the Carrera GT slice through air while creating ground force. Xenon headlamps illuminate darkened roads. The Basalt Black paint in concert with the dark gray interior carry the unmistakable shape of unbridled performance yet imbue a certain sense of subtlety. Bright yellow Porsche brake calipers on the massive ceramic composite brake rotors speak the language of racing.

A galvanized magnesium console centers the supercar interior and the 6-speed shifter is topped with a handcrafted lightweight ash shift knob as a recognizing nod to the wood-topped shifter in the Porsche 917 race cars. Bucket XT seats envelop the driver and passenger in the Carrera GT experience and air conditioning delivers on-command precision climate control. This Porsche Carrera GT has traveled a mere 909 miles since new and comes with a portfolio of original Porsche manuals and documentation including the Porsche Design Driver's Collection, warranty booklet, dealer directory, maintenance schedule, owner's manual and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

Becker radio code cards and U.S. navigation compact disc join a leather carrying portfolio case, battery tender, car cover, seat covers and a specifically engineered Porsche center lock wheel nut socket tool. The Porsche Carrera GT was discontinued in 2006 after just 1,270 of these hand-built ultra-performance supercars were produced for worldwide consumption.
