Introduced in 1929 to replace the ageing 20 HP, the 20/25 was a minor revolution in the history of Rolls-Royce, quickly becoming the best-selling model in the catalogue. Its 6-cylinder engine coupled with a four-speed synchronised gearbox made it a pleasure to drive, even in modern traffic! According to the accompanying factory data sheet, our example was ordered by Colonel Porritt, then manager of the New Zealand team at the Berlin Olympics, who never actually took delivery of the car. It was a certain Peter Reid of Euxton Hall, England, who became the first owner of this car on 27 March 1934.

In 1994, after spending some thirty years in the United States, the car returned to Europe for a top-quality restoration, documented in the dossier. Particular attention was paid to the bodywork, which is also supported by an extensive photo file. Today, the car proudly wears the unique colour that was applied during the restoration, and is in impeccable condition. The upholstery, which is older than the restoration, appears to be original. The mechanics are running smoothly despite little use in recent years, but an overall overhaul would be advisable before taking to the road again.

At a contained estimate, this luxurious pre-war car, restored at great expense, is certainly one of the best on the market.
