Only the revered 250 GTO and 288 GTO models had been bestowed with the
Gran Turismo Omologato
nomenclature prior to the arrival of the hard-edged 599 GTO in 2010. A naturally aspirated, 6-litre V-12 that delivered some 670 horsepower to the rear wheels via a six-speed automated-manual transmission dominated a package that was almost 100 kilograms lighter than the standard 599. Accordingly, the car lapped the Fiorano test track a second faster than the halo Enzo, from which its engine was derived.
The 599 GTO offered here was delivered new on 12 November 2010 via official Ferrari dealer, Sa.Mo.Car of Rome, to a resident of the Italian capital. Specified in the stunning shade of Grigio Medio and complemented by a Nero racing livery, which most prominently adds a centre stripe, the exterior also gained carbon fibre headlight tubs, Cup wheels with carbon fibre wheel caps, plus a Giallo Modena finish for the brake callipers. Further notable options include the selection of privacy glass for the rear windows behind the flying buttresses and the factory installation of paint-protection film.
A Nera Alcantara interior was treated to a similarly bespoke configuration. The luggage compartment sill and accents on the fascia are finished in carbon fibre, while the carbon fibre racing seats are fitted with four-point harnesses. The shade Grigio Chiaro was selected for the stitching and a white tachometer was installed. Although a track-focused special edition, conveniences include a roll bar, Bose sound system, satellite navigation, plus front and rear parking sensors.
Consigned to auction by its third owner, who is based in Alsace, this example benefits from a June 2024 service completed by Ferrari SF Grand Est Mulhouse at a cost of €3,589 (invoice available to view on file). Displaying 20,790 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, the car is accompanied by its folio containing owner’s guides plus coveted “Red Book” from Ferrari Classiche. This 599 GTO would make for a statement addition to any collection of ultimate modern-day supercars.

Son V12 de 6 litres atmosphérique développait 670 ch transmis aux roues arrière via une boîte séquentielle à six rapports et la voiture pesait quelque 100 kg de moins que la 559 standard. En toute logique, la 599 GTO tournait sur le circuit de Fiorano en une seconde de moins que la très rapide Enzo dont son moteur était issu.
La 599 GTO proposée ici a été livrée neuve le 12 novembre 2010 par l'intermédiaire du distributeur Ferrari officiel Sa.Mo.Car, de Rome, à un résident de la capitale italienne. Commandée dans la très belle couleur "Grigio Medio" et complétée par une livrée compétition noire composée principalement d'une bande noire centrale, cette voiture présentait aussi des nacelles de phares en carbone, des jantes Cup avec enjoliveurs centraux en carbone et des étriers de frein de couleur "Giallo". Elle bénéficiait d'autres options comme des vitres de custode teintées derrière les montants arrière et un film de protection de peinture posé à l'usine.
L'intérieur en Alcantara noir a reçu lui aussi un traitement particulier. Le seuil de coffre et les garnitures de tableau de bord montrent des touches de fibre de carbone et les sièges baquets à coque en carbone sont équipés de harnais quatre points. Les coutures de sièges sont "Grigio Chiaro" et le compte-tours est à fond blanc. Bien qu'il s'agisse d'une série spéciale orientée circuit, avec arceau de sécurité, l'équipement de confort inclut un système hi-fi Bose, un système de navigation par satellite ainsi que des capteurs de parking avant et arrière.
Proposée à la vente par son troisième propriétaire, basé en Alsace, cette voiture a fait l'objet d'une révision effectuée par Ferrari SF Grand Est, à Mulhouse, pour la somme de 3 589 € (facture consultable dans le dossier). Affichant 20 790 km d'origine au moment de rédiger ce catalogue, cette voiture est accompagnée de son classeur incluant les manuels d'utilisation ainsi que le précieux "Red Book" de Ferrari Classiche.
