Not satisfied with the standard 599 GTB Fiorano’s nearly 1.00 g of lateral grip, Ferrari engineers elevated the model’s performance in 2010 with the introduction of the Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione (HGTE) package. Led by an extensively upgraded suspension, the package lowered ride height by almost half an inch through stiffer springs and a sturdier rear anti-roll bar, while also featuring a retuned exhaust, lightweight rims, and an upgraded gearbox which dropped shifting times to an astounding 85 milliseconds.
Other standard race-bred elements included carbon fiber mirrors, dash, and steering wheel along with carbon fiber sport seats with Alcantara inserts. Under the hood lurked a Tipo F140 V-12 engine derived from the immortal Ferrari Enzo and no less vicious, capable of rocketing the 599 to 60 mph in a breathtaking 3.3 seconds—the same time as the Enzo.
Displaying just 5,109 miles at cataloguing, this HGTE-equipped 599 GTB Fiorano was supplied new by Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, finished in the iconic Maranello racing hue of Scuderia Rosso, complemented by a Nero leather interior.
