  • 23rd overall and 3rd in class at the 1975 Targa Florio
  • An ideal historic racing entrant with proven period history

Originally finished in Blanc Gardenia, chassis no. 18351 was registered as PA 413826 in the Italian province of Palermo. Under this registration, the car participated in the 1975 Targa Florio with Rubino and Vesco. Wearing race no. 88, the pair placed an exceptional 23rd overall and 3rd in the 1.6-litre GT class. Its participation in the event is documented by period photographs and in the book Alpine Renault A110: Les Bleus Italiennes written by Francesco Panarotto.

After the race in 1975, the car’s competition career ceased and the car was purchased by an individual who parked it in his garage for about 25 years. In 2000 the owner fell into poor health, and at this time, the car was purchased by the current owner’s father-in-law. It was removed from storage and returned to running condition through a complete overhaul of the engine, gearbox, clutch and brakes.

Over the course of the last 18 years it has been seldom driven, aside from the occasional jaunt across town and back to ensure everything is in working order. At this time, the car received an FIA HTP with vintage racing in mind, but it has yet to compete in any events. As a proper Group 3 privateer sprint racer, it still retains its period Halda tripmaster and is fitted with its original period roll cage. In addition to the aforementioned documentation from the FIA, the car is accompanied by its original Italian libretto and would be a highly competitive entrant to a number of vintage events. With its compelling history, it could easily vie for the top of the podium.
