The Pall Mall tourer was one of the most attractive body styles produced for the American “Springfield” Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost chassis. Among the cars delivered with it was chassis no. S366RL, supplied on 30 November 1926, to Mrs. Georgia M. Landa of Columbus, Ohio, the widow of a wealthy Kansas City grain broker. Rolls-Royce records indicate that the Silver Ghost remained in Columbus for the first 35 years of its life before passing in 1955 to James G. Easton of Waterloo, Iowa.

Mr. Easton exhibited the Silver Ghost at the Veteran Motor Car Club of America’s 22nd Annual Meet in 1959, earning a 1st in Class. In spring of 1963 it added to its laurels the Antique Automobile Club of America’s Foo Dog Trophy for the finest Rolls-Royce exhibited during the show year. Afterward, the car was retired to a life of exercise on the open road, winning long-distance driving awards from the RROC in 1965 and 1973. A fresh restoration then took place between 1980 and 1981, after which the car was sold to Bill and Roxanne Glenn of Manhattan Beach, California.

The Glenns fitted turn signals and front disc brakes and continued to use the car extensively for touring, as did the next owner, Gail Reinggold, who purchased it in 1998 and installed a Gear Venders overdrive unit in addition to having minor engine work performed in 2005 by Steve Littin’s Vintage & Auto Rebuilds. Mr. Reinggold then drove the car in the Rose Parade in Pasadena in 1999, chauffeuring Grand Marshals Shirley Temple Black and Buzz Aldrin. The Ghost also went on extended journeys touring both sides of the Atlantic, including a trip to Austria.

Todd Nagler acquired the Rolls-Royce from Mr. Reinggold, a longtime friend, in early 2013. It has continued to enjoy the use and good care typical of this collection, including display in RROC and CCCA regional events, as well as participation in occasional tours. It is offered with an exhaustive history and maintenance file, including numerous invoices from the Reinggold ownership, manuals, and various brochures and ephemera. Few Pall Malls can claim its outstanding provenance or well-traveled history.
