Dramatically contrasting Bianco Fuji paint with a Rosso interior, this 209-mile LaFerrari is one of only two exported to North America with this stunning color combination. The most technologically advanced Ferrari ever built, the 2015 LaFerrari offered from the Gatsby Exotics Collection brings together the technical acumen of the Maranello firm’s GT and Formula One racing departments in a masterpiece of automotive design and performance. The LaFerrari’s elegantly proportioned bodywork is a pure example of form following function.
Both the cockpit and the hybrid power system are packaged between the axle lines, achieving maximum dynamic balance, and designer Flavio Manzoni of the Ferrari Styling Center capitalized on his wind-tunnel experience to sculpt one of the most aggressively beautiful and aerodynamically effective forms ever to cloak an automobile. An F1-inspired front wing knifes through the air at the leading edge, channeling it through and around the body surfaces to the rear, where the effect is maximized by a large active wing and deep tunnels containing active diffuser elements.
Ferrari’s F1 drivers played a crucial part in developing the LaFerrari’s modern cockpit design, yet there remain enough traditional cues that there is no mistaking it for anything other than a Ferrari. Occupants sit F1-style in leather-upholstered fixed seats, and both the steering wheel and pedals adjust to fit the driver. A reconfigurable digital instrument panel and large column-mounted shift paddles are located behind the steering wheel, which incorporates the start button, Manettino and audio-system controls. Other secondary controls for audio, navigation, climate and telemetry are close at hand on the dash and driver’s door.
The LaFerrari is the first Ferrari with a hybrid drivetrain, pairing a 6.3L/788 HP V-12 engine (the most powerful naturally aspirated V-12 in the world) and a 161 HP electric motor for a sum of 949 total HP, delivering 60 MPH in a fearsome 2.4 seconds and a governed top speed of 217 MPH in an uninterrupted rush of power. Sporting Scuderia fender badges with black alloy wheels, this 209-mile 2015 LaFerrari is a standout offering from the impressive Gatsby Exotics Collection.
