As the works records confirm, this right-hand drive DBS was completed on 17 September 1971 and delivered on 21 October that year to the English dealer Sundridge Park Motors. It was ordered in ‘Dubonnet Rosso’ with a champagne-coloured leather interior. By way of options, it was fitted with automatic transmission, a Voxson radio with twin loudspeakers, two exterior mirrors and a pair of Marchal fog lamps. When it was bought at an auction held at the Palais des Congrès in Paris in June 1998, the car was described as having had only one owner in England before being imported into France in 1995.
Jean-Pierre Nylin covered only 147 miles behind its wheel, and today the DBS is in original condition; it had previously been repainted in its original colour and still has its original engine. We noted that the registration document erroneously describes it as a DB5 rather than a DBS. It will need to be recommissioned and given a full service before being driven again. Its elegant colour combination, set off by chrome wire wheels, makes it a particularly desirable GT. Buyers are informed that all vehicles in the collection have seen limited use in recent years, having been part of a museum display.
They are therefore sold as-is, require restarting, are not covered by a valid roadworthiness inspection, and will need full recommissioning before being driven on public roads. Photos © Peter Singhof
