Leaving the factory in 1989 after its final inspection on the 13th September, this Aston Martin Lagonda was delivered new to Zurich. This is a genuine left-hand drive Series 4, a model with a limited production of approximately 70 examples out of a total of 105, the majority of which were initially intended for the United States and the Middle East. With its original European specifications, it is therefore particularly rare and highly sought after.
It was finished in Cumberland Grey, a subtle and rare colour which it still has to date; this car is part of the collection of a renowned German automotive designer and industrialist who insists on his cars being immaculate: this Lagonda saloon is a prime example of that. Its exceptionally low mileage of less than 20,180 kilometres since new means that its paintwork is still in excellent condition and its interior (with a superb light beige leather upholstery) is perfectly well preserved. It is equipped with a rear sunroof, an automatic transmission and is accompanied by a history file which includes its service logbook.
At its launch, this model was already a great success thanks to its William Towns’ design, reflecting the “wedge” trend. Furthermore, it was fitted with the 5.4-litre V8 engine designed by Tadek Marek and was one of the first production cars to feature a digital dashboard. Early models encountered electronic issues but these were progressively resolved over the four consecutive series. This particular series 4 represents the most refined and usable iteration and in such excellent condition, it is without a doubt one of the most attractive examples currently available on the market.
