Finished in white with matching-finished OZ Racing wheels, this 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary is powered by a 5.2L/455 HP quad-cam V-12 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. The 25th Anniversary Countach is an icon, the end of an era and inimitable through a number of special features such as the side strakes, front air dam, upper vents and more. Of course, all Countaches use the famous scissor-style doors, and this one is equipped with the boomerang-style rear wing as well. Inside, this car pampers passengers with black and red leather upholstery, bucket seats, a gated shifter and more.
Lamborghini’s first offering was the 350 GT, a larger grand-touring vehicle to entice wealthier buyers with refined tastes who otherwise might choose a Maserati or Ferrari grand tourer. With a front-mounted V-12 engine, long nose, short tail and ample interior space, the 350 GT begat the 400 GT, a car that closely resembled the 350 GT but used a smoother, more powerful 4.0L V-12 engine. While the GT cars were lovely, Lamborghini knew it had to produce something spectacular to not just amaze the press and public but absolutely stun them, rivet them to their core. For 1966, the company introduced what would become largely famous as the world’s first supercar: the Miura.
Indeed, the Miura is the car that arguably put Lamborghini on the map, capturing the imaginations of all who saw one and instantly becoming the dream car of both young and old alike. By 1989, the company was celebrating 25 years of business and did so by offering a special version of the Countach, the car that took the baton from the Miura in 1974 and further cemented Lamborghini as one of the world’s penultimate supercar builders. A swan song for the Countach model, the 25th Anniversary edition also ushered in the new-for-1990 Diablo, the car that took the baton from the Countach.
