Chassis No.: B395009977LRX

Registration: KKH 748D

The Sunbeam Alpine was launched in 1953 as the first vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot to bear the Sunbeam name alone, since the 1935 takeover of Sunbeam and Talbot by the Rootes Group. Ken Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign of the Alpine in 1956 with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. The Series V Alpine was produced from 1965 through to 1968.

This example originally registered to California is presented in lovely metallic green with black trim. Restored in 2019 by its then owner Mr Charles Long it was sold at Mecum Auctions in 2019 before being purchased from Bullet Motorsports by our vendor and imported to the UK in 2020. A fully restored example less than 500 miles ago, this car benefitted from a full respray, a new crate engine with chrome single carburettor set up, new brakes, front and rear end suspension, new interior including thermocoustic insulation, a new clutch, pressure plate and ring gear, starter motor, an upgraded alternator, new Petronix electronic ignition and the fuel tank has been cleaned and lined.

Restored to be a Tiger evocation, this example also boasts a battery cut out, sports roll bar and steering wheel, new chrome bumpers and grille, chrome wheels and stainless steel exhaust. The hardtop is offered with the car but will need to be collected from the vendor post auction along with some spares should the winning bidder want them. The history file contains documentation including a work sheet from the restoration, California Title and UK V5. A fabulous and fun example in very good order having benefitted from such significant restoration and expenditure.
