Part of the Richard Welkowitz Collection since new, this 2015 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta presents in virtually untouched condition with just 78 miles. Introduced at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, the F12 built on the advances of its 599 GTB predecessor with more power, advanced aerodynamics and refined interior accommodations. At 731 HP and 509 lb-ft of peak torque, the F12’s front-mounted 6.3L V-12 made it the fastest road-going Ferrari to its point in time, with 80% of its power all in by a mere 2,500 RPM on the way to a 211 MPH top speed.
As is recent practice, the transmission is a programmable dual-clutch, paddle-shifted 7-speed automatic transaxle sharing space with an electronic limited-slip differential. With its all-aluminum structure comprising 12 different alloys, the F12’s chassis and body are both extremely strong and lightweight; the latter clearly demonstrates Ferrari’s high-efficiency approach to aerodynamics and downforce. The front end employs the ingenious “Air Bridge” that channels high-pressure air at the base of the windshield to create a boundary layer that reduces drag and turbulence.
Unmistakably inspired by Ferrari’s F1 racers, the F12’s rear bodywork channels air from underneath cavernous twin diffusers to meet air flowing from the spoiler to generate tremendous downforce. Festooned in brilliant Rosso Corsa paint with a tan and black interior, this 2015 F12 rides on lightweight 10-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires and incorporates carbon-ceramic disc brakes with red-painted calipers. The interior is the very definition of Ferrari craftsmanship, an inviting environment of supple Italian leathers over beautifully sculpted surfaces.
In addition to the most exotic-looking Daytona style seats (complete with Prancing Horse headrest embroidery), features include the Manettino steering wheel with multiple mode settings, a 10,000 RPM tachometer, dual-zone automatic climate control, a passenger display readout, power windows, locks and seats, and a powerful sound system.
