The Alfa Romeo Giulia Super is widely regarded as one of the defining compact sports saloons of its era, combining understated Italian styling with lively performance and advanced engineering for its time. Introduced as part of Alfa Romeo’s Giulia range, the Super variant represented a well-balanced blend of everyday usability and spirited driving character. The Giulia Super features the model’s hallmark boxy yet elegant silhouette, characterized by crisp lines, a distinctive Alfa Romeo grille and lightweight construction. Its relatively low mass contributes significantly to its agility and responsiveness on the road.
Under the bonnet, the Giulia Super is powered by Alfa Romeo’s celebrated all-alloy twin-cam inline-four engine, paired with a manual gearbox. Advanced for the late 1960s, the car benefits from features such as disc brakes on all four wheels and a well-sorted suspension set-up, offering confident handling and strong stopping power. The interior reflects a purposeful yet refined design, with clear instrumentation, supportive seating and driver-focused ergonomics. This striking example presented in white with the Italian colours (painted on and not stickered) subtly added by way of a stripe, was remastered by the renowned specialist Alfaholics. It is a beautifully prepared and extensively upgraded example which has been enhanced throughout by Alfaholics to deliver exceptional performance while retaining its classic character. At its heart is a 216bhp Alfaholics Twin Spark engine, equipped with 45mm Weber carburettors, 3D-mapped ignition and a billet GTAm cam cover. The gearbox has been fully rebuilt and fitted with a close-ratio gearkit, along with race-quality synchromesh and bearings, ensuring precise and engaging shifts.
The axle has also been rebuilt and now features an Alfaholics fast road limited-slip differential. Handling and braking have been significantly upgraded with the Alfaholics GTA-R suspension package, incorporating aluminium adjustable dampers, complemented by a GTA-R brake package with powerful six-pot Superleggera calipers and is fitted with a stainless-steel exhaust system. Cooling is improved via an aluminium radiator and oil cooler. The car sits on Alfaholics 7x15” GTA Veloce wheels, shod with Michelin 185/60 tyres, providing both period-correct aesthetics and modern grip.
Inside, the cabin has been carefully finished with bespoke tailored Wilton wool carpets, while the Alfaholics Sport Road front seats are trimmed in high-quality leather in the original style. The rear seats and door cards have been retrimmed to match, creating a cohesive and refined interior. On the road, the result is a truly exhilarating driving experience—remarkably fast, responsive, and engaging. It combines effortless cruising capability with outstanding performance on demanding back roads, delivering impressive stopping power and composure.
Discreet in appearance, this “sleeper” classic has the ability to surprise even modern performance cars, making it a compelling and highly desirable example.
