Looking back at its 2010 debut, the addition of the 458 Italia to Ferrari’s heralded lineage of midengine V-8 berlinettas was practically an inevitability; it was the confluence of exponential advancements in computer technology and Ferrari’s ever-expanding Formula 1 expertise distilled down into the most advanced, capable and exhilarating road Ferrari ever offered to the public at that time. The 458’s direct injection 4.5L V-8 engine generates 562 HP at a screaming 9,000 RPM and 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 RPM.
The last naturally aspirated production V-8 in Ferrari’s history, it is backed by a paddle-shifted, dual clutch Getrag 7-speed gearbox incorporating an electro-mechanical limited-slip differential. Strikingly finished in Bianco Avus over a Rosso leather interior, this 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia berlinetta’s original MSRP of $293,398 includes such standard features as carbon ceramic brake rotors, driver-adjustable ride control, front and rear anti-roll bars, rain-sensing wipers, rocker panel extensions and light tinted glass. Standard interior features include a multifunction steering wheel, dual LCD monitors, leather-trimmed door inserts and dual-zone climate control.
That figure also includes more than $63,000 in factory options, including a carbon fiber outer sill cover, Scuderia fender shields, AFS Adaptive Front Lighting System, auto-dimming mirrors, a rear parking camera with front and rear sensors, and front end lift.
