Alfa Romeo replaced its popular 2000 range with the 2600 model series, which became the marque’s flagship sports car available in Berlina, Spider, or Sprint body styles. Named for its 2.6-litre engine, the 2600 cars were notably the last from the Italian manufacturer to use a straight-six engine with overhead camshafts. The Sprint version assumed a svelte coupé shape and was built by Bertone; it was rated by the factory for a top speed of 200 km/h from its triple-carburettor-fed engine with a 143-horsepower output.

The example offered here is believed to have spent most of its life in Sweden, with its first documented owner residing in Stockholm and registering the car in 1965. The Alfa Romeo appears to have stayed in the country until 2018, when it was acquired by The Godehardt Collection and taken to Germany and registered the following year. The car is accompanied by a history file that lists much of the maintenance conducted in Swedish ownership and with its vendor, who commissioned €1,502-worth of repairs with Aartal Sportwagen in March 2022. This included the fitment of a new starter motor and other tasks. Presented here in a handsome shade of blue complemented by a blue leather interior, this stylish Alfa Romeo is sure to appeal to collectors.

Alfa Romeo a remplacé sa gamme 2000 par la série des 2600, modèles sportifs haut de gamme disponibles en versions Berlina, Spider ou Sprint. Tenant leur nom de leur moteur 2,6 litres, les modèles 2600 étaient les derniers du constructeur italien à recevoir un moteur 6-cylindres en ligne à deux arbres à cames en tête. La Sprint correspondait à un élégant coupé fabriqué par Bertone, et son moteur de 143 ch alimenté par trois carburateurs lui permettait une vitesse de pointe de 200 km/h, comme l'indiquait l'usine.

L’exemplaire proposé ici a probablement passé le plus clair de son existence en Suède, avec un premier propriétaire enregistré qui, demeurant à Stockholm, a immatriculé la voiture en 1965. Elle semble être restée dans ce pays jusqu’en 2018, quand elle a été achetée par la Godehardt Collection et emmenée en Allemagne où elle a été immatriculée l'année suivante. Cette voiture est accompagnée d'un dossier historique qui liste une bonne partie de l'entretien effectué en Suède et en Allemagne où, à la demande du nouveau propriétaire, des travaux ont été réalisés en mars 2022 par Aartal Sportwagen pour 1 502 €. Ils incluaient notamment le remplacement du démarreur.

Présentée aujourd'hui dans une belle couleur bleue complétée par un intérieur en cuir bleu, cette élégante Alfa Romeo ne manquera pas de séduire les collectionneurs.
