One of the final iterations of the legendary Mk1 Golf GTi, this 1.8 Campaign in Alpine White has covered just under 60,000 miles.
Introduced towards the end of Mk1 GTi production and only available with three-door 'hatch' bodywork, around 1,000 Campaign Edition models were produced for the UK. Powered by a naturally aspirated, 112bhp, 1.8-litre inline-four with a 5-speed manual transmission. Low ride height combined with 14" Pirelli alloys, sport suspension and Recaro-style seats make these a real fun classic. They featured a factory-installed sliding sunroof, green-tinted glass all round, matt black A-pillars and a four-light front grille with inner fog lights.
Fitted with the exclusive 'Campaign' cloth upholstery, complemented by a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood veneer dashboard and special edition gear knob - features that elevate this model above standard GTi variants. This 1983 GTi Campaign presents well. There are some minor imperfections consistent with its age but it's still a great example of the Mk1 Golf’s timeless design. 59,855 miles indicated supported by a detailed history, including multiple MOT Certificates and a copy of its Volkswagen Build Certificate.
