Introduced in 1983, the Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk2 built on the success of the original with improved refinement, safety and performance, with the later ‘big bumper’ cars from 1986 increasingly sought after by collectors. First registered in 1986, this rare three-door example, has been owned by Volkswagen enthusiasts for many years, stored in a garage for approximately the last decade and is now ready for its next chapter. Finished in classic Black, retaining its factory Rainbow cloth seats and sitting on period-correct Ronal alloy wheels.
Powered by the familiar 1.8-litre GTi petrol engine paired with a manual gearbox, the car starts and runs and has recently been fitted with a new battery, although it will require full recommissioning before returning to the road.
