From 16-years ownership, this Mars Red GTi Campaign Edition simply looks and feels just right.
The Campaign Edition was a limited edition marking the end of Mk1 GTi production in the UK, combining the classic three-door, lightweight, small bumper GTi formula with a desirable factory specification that has since made these cars particularly sought after. They featured a factory-installed sliding sun roof, green-tinted glass all round, matt black A-pillars, a four-light front grille with inner fog lights and 14" Pirelli 'P-slot' alloy wheels. Powered by a naturally aspirated, 112bhp, 1.8-litre inline-four with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Finished in Mars Red, this example presents superbly following restoration by Wagon Wheels of Southampton prior to our vendor’s purchase, the condition today reflecting both the quality of that work and careful long term ownership. Acquired by its current owner around 16 years ago and covering fewer than 2,000 miles during his ownership, clearly cherished and maintained as part of a considered collection. Still wearing its original registration number and presenting as a proper, well sorted example of this desirable limited edition.
