  • French registration document
  • Engine no. 1FGOB023173
  • Recent comprehensive restoration
  • Particularly rare in such condition
  • Highly sought-after version of the legendary 205
  • No reserve

Purchased in 2015 by its current owner, our 205 Rallye was a good restoration project, missing its original engine. Determined to restore it to the condition it deserved, the owner, a coachbuilder and painter by trade, undertook most of the restoration work himself and, above all, carefully supervised it. The result is particularly appealing, and it is rare to come across “Rallyes” in such fine condition. The complete restoration was carried out from a bare shell, which received anti-corrosion treatment, a coat of primer and Meije white paint.

Inside, the carpets and headliner were replaced, and the seats were refurbished using the original fabric. An M2A TU24-type 1,294 cc engine developing 103 hp, in keeping with the original specification, was completely dismantled; its components were inspected and worn parts replaced, including the piston rings, clutch, connecting-rod bearings and carburetors. A 2021 inspection, corroborated by a photographic report, attests to the scope and quality of the work carried out; we invite you to consult them.

This 205 Rallye, whose driving is exhilarating, has become an icon for an entire generation, embodying the magic of the 1980s. Fine examples have become rare and are now highly sought after, which has inevitably driven prices sharply upwards.
