“What the Vantage is, and what the Virage, Volante and Zagato are not, is a real Aston Martin: a big, very beautiful, very fast, albeit expensive GT with so much appeal and purpose behind it that it is more an experience than it is mere transport...”
Autocar & Motor.
“Brutal” was a word often used to describe the fastest Aston Martin ever offered when it was launched in 1993, but with no less than 550 bhp available to propel its two tonnes, the word can be taken as an honest assessment. In a test with Autocar magazine, a development Vantage reached 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, outpacing a Ferrari 512 TR, and reached 160 km/h (100 mph) just 5.5 seconds later. The standing kilometre was covered in 23.1 seconds and, although a verified top speed figure was not available, the Vantage was said to have reached 305 km/h during testing in France.
Delivered new to Hamburg, Germany, this rare and desirable Aston Martin Vantage—later known as the V550 Vantage—is finished in a rare shade of dark grey, “Litchfield black”, with a very attractive dark green interior featuring dark green piping. We understand that only three examples of this model were finished in Litchfield black, and that only one—the car offered here—was specified with a green interior. This original left-hand drive model with a six-speed manual gearbox is relatively rare. Around 35 cars were built in 1996, including both left- and right-hand drive examples.
Delivered on 25 June 1996, the Vantage is accompanied by its original warranty card and service book. The latter records an odometer change in 1998 at 11,000 kilometres, when the totaliser was reset. The current odometer shows 29,200 kilometres, making the actual distance covered a little over 40,000 kilometres.
In 2006, the Aston moved from Germany to Luxembourg, where it was later purchased by the current seller. Service invoices indicate that the car has hardly been driven since 2006: only around 10,000 kilometres in 15 years. The car comes with its owner's handbook and service book, the latter stamped three times between June 1996 and June 1999.
Additional documents include expired Luxembourg registration papers bearing the (appropriate) number “AM 6006”, a Luxembourg roadworthiness certificate (valid until July 2019), a copy of an old German registration document (2005), and invoices for work carried out by Performance Cars in Luxembourg on various dates between 2006 and 2018, after which the car was hardly used.

“Brutal” was a word used more than once to describe the fastest Aston Martin ever when it was introduced in 1993, but with no less than 550bhp available to propel its two tons, the description can only be judged fair comment. On test with Autocar magazine, a development Vantage raced to 100km/h in a Ferrari 512TR-destroying 4.6 seconds, reaching the “ton” just 5.5 seconds later. The standing kilometre was achieved in 23.1 seconds with the speedometer registering close to 240km/h, and although a true top speed figure proved unobtainable, the Vantage was reported as having already recorded 305km/h while on test in France.
Delivered new to Hamburg, Germany, this rare and desirable Aston Martin Vantage—the model became known as the V550 Vantage—is finished in a rare shade of dark grey, “Litchfield black”, with a lovely dark green interior featuring dark green piping. We have been advised that only three examples were originally finished in Litchfield black and only one of them, the example offered here, had a green interior. As an original left-hand drive model with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox, it is relatively rare. It is estimated that only around 35 were built in 1996 (both LHD and RHD). The Vantage was delivered on 25 June 1996 and comes with its original warranty card and service book.
The latter records an odometer change in 1998 at 11,000 kilometres, when the total was reset to zero. The current odometer reading is 29,200 kilometres, making the actual total from new a little over 40,000 kilometres.
In 2006, the Aston moved from Germany to Luxembourg, where it was later purchased by the current owner. Service invoices show that the car has hardly covered any distance since 2006: only around 10,000 kilometres in the past 15 years. The car comes with its wallet containing the owner's handbook and service book, the latter stamped on three occasions between June 1996 and June 1999. Additional documentation includes cancelled Luxembourg registration documents for the very suitable number plate “AM 6006”; Luxembourg Contrôle Technique (expired July 2019); a copy of an old German title (2005); and invoices for work carried out by Performance Cars in Luxembourg on various dates between 2006 and 2018, since when the V550 Vantage has hardly been driven.
