After spending some time in the United States, this Lancia Flaminia returned to Italy in 1994, where it was fully restored in the early 2000s. In 2007, it was purchased by a specialist from Udine before being acquired at auction the same year by the current owners’ father, a major collector from Brescia. Since then, it has not been driven much and in 2022, a full restoration was carried out by a friend of the owner. The file includes a list of the work completed as well as invoices for parts. The transmission, brakes and carburetion were notably revised, to name a few.
The restoration was meticulously carried out; it withstood the test of time very well and the car is now truly stunning, with no excess or flaw. The burgundy red colour perfectly complements the elegant Touring “Superleggera” bodywork and the interior is magnificent with its richly equipped painted metal dashboard (with a period car radio), its immaculate carpets and inviting beige leather upholstery. The engine bay is equally well-treated, showcasing the 2.5-litre V6 engine powered by a single carburettor, in line with original specifications. In this first version, only 421 examples of the Flaminia convertible were produced, making it a particularly rare car.
With its invoices and FIVA identity card included, this Flaminia is a desirable example of a model that combines elegance, chic and mechanical brilliance in a rarely matched combination. Photos © Mattia Bortoluzzi
