    Renault 5, 1984

Chassis No.: VS513970010001288 Engine No.: 688E713D Registration: TBA Sold £2,240 | Sold The Renault 5 was launched onto the right hand drive UK market in the autumn of 1972, where, alongside the recently launched Fiat 127, it competed as an imported but more modern alternative to the Mini and Hillman Imp. The 5 borrowed mechanicals from the similarly popular Renault 4 using a longitudinally-mounted engine driving the front wheels. Engines were borrowed from the Renault 4 and larger Renault 8; there was a choice, at launch, between 782cc and 956cc according to price level. The 5TS and 5LS both with the 1,289cc engine from the Renault 12 was added from April 1974. As on the Renault 4, entry level Renault 5’s had their engine sizes increased to 845cc in 1976 and at the top of the range later models had the engine sizes expanded to 1,397cc. The Renault 5 went on to enjoy cult status when the turbo and rear engine Group B derived Maxi cars were introduced. This four-door left hand drive Renault 5 is in very good order throughout and shows a mere 11,389Km on the odometer, this is thought to be correct although not warranted. Having spent its life overseas the bodywork is very solid and the white paintwork is showing to be in good order. We are advised it runs and drives well; the UK registration has been applied for and is expected to be completed prior to auction. Once a common sight on roads throughout Europe these Renault 5’s are surely a future classic. https://www.historics.co.uk/auction/lot/?lot=4546&au=78

    Renault Coupe, 1985

$22,410 USD | Sold The Alpine A310GT, built in France, is one of Europe's most elusive sports cars. Only 8,000 of these hand-built automobiles were built during a fifteen year production from 1971 to 1985, and there are only two dozen of them in the United States. The A310's blood lines include the Alpine A442 (the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans winner), and the Alpine A110 (the 1971 World Rally Champion). Formula 1 drivers Didier Pironi, Rene Arnoux, Patrick Depailler, and Jean-Pierre Jabouille all raced Alpines during their careers. The A310GT's powerplant is an all aluminum, water cooled SOHC 2.7L V6 PRV engine. It is rated at 150 horsepower and 183 lbs/ft torque. (The car only weighs 2100lbs.) This car has the optional three Weber 42DCNF carburetors mated to an independent tuner intake manifold. The compression ratio is 10:1. The transaxle is a 5-speed gearbox with a hydraulic clutch. The air conditioner is a rare factory option. The A310GT's body is fiberglass over a tubular steel backbone frame. It has 4-wheel independent suspension, and 4-wheel power disc brakes. The Gotti wheels are OEM. This car has 33,000 miles and is in factory original condition except for an MSD ignition, an extra air intake, and several factory performance upgrades. It is accident free. It has won awards at various shows, including the 'Rare Bird Trophy' from former Formula 1 World Champion Phil Hill at the 2002 Roadrunner 1000 Rally in Santa Fe, New Mexico. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/scottsdale-2005/docket/vehicle/1985-renault-coupe-22012

    RENAULT BACCARA Super 5, 1988

Chassis No.: 01400269 €4 949 | Sold Incredible original condition First hand until 2021, less than 103 000 km All invoices and technical controls since its production French registration title Chassis n° 01400269 The Supercinq is the second generation of the iconic Renault 5, launched in 1972. It will be produced until 1996, after having been the best-selling car in France between 1986 and 1989, ahead of its eternal rival, the Peugeot 205. Designed for a young clientele and thanks to its limited size, it gradually established itself, as its career progressed, as a car for urban customers. In the second half of the 1980s, Renault executives noticed that there was a bourgeois population within this urban population, which did not have a sufficiently luxurious everyday vehicle in which they would accept to be seen. It is in this context that Renault presents the Supercinq Baccara in 1987, a luxury people’s car or a popular l uxurious car depending on the angle... Available with an automatic or manual gearbox, it was especially equipped with a Connolly leather upholstery and a complete equipment taken from the GTS, among which the power steering, electric windows, centralized locking, alloy wheels and ... a costume storage installed under the rear cover! It will be a real success, which will push Renault to propose a Baccara version for the R19, R21, R25 then the Clio before the disappearance of the name. Our Supercinq was bought in November 1988 from the Escobrie dealership in Melun. Its black color, associated with the typical bronze Baccara pinstripe suits it perfectly, associated with a beige leather in a remarkable state, the seats being neither sagged nor torn. The meticulous first owner took particular care of her car and kept every document, every invoice, every technical control, in an important file. Moving to the Orne region, she very recently decided to part with her Supercinq, annoyed by the countless business cards with purchase proposals that she found under her windshield wipers! The car, with less than 103,000 km on the odometer, is in exceptional condition, showing a rigorous and continuous maintenance. The bumpers have been repainted, the rear fender interiors relined, and the mechanics overhauled. It is absolutely incredible to find a car with such a follow-up, and such a history. Add to this the fact that Supercinqs in good condition are rare on the market - especially Baccara cars - and you will understand why this youngtimer is an opportunity not to be missed... https://www.aguttes.com/lot/116225/b3206185-cd69-4f62-a052-58de155ae0b6
