Continuing with the “Twin-Grille” T6 body design ushered in during 356B production, the 356C featured many detail-oriented updates that may have required close inspection, yet it was a major evolutionary leap forward that carried the 356 to the eventual close of production in 1965. Standard Dunlop 4-wheel disc brakes provided excellent stopping power, a higher-lift camshaft boosted output of Porsche’s air-cooled 1600cc flat 4-cylinder engine, and new flat-face bright hubcaps bolstered visual appeal.
