Touring Superleggera bodywork Interesting restoration base Engine not blocked, matching numbers No registration title Lancia Classiche certificate Certificate of conformity Stellantis Chassis n° 824001190 Engine n° 823001832 Designed by Pininfarina, the Lancia Flaminia saloon made its debut at the Turin Motor Show in 1956 and embodied the Italian luxury car. The successor to the Aurelia, the Flaminia was based on the Aurelia’s architecture, but the monocoque construction was different and the traditional telescopic front suspension was replaced by a double wishbone with more modern coil springs.

Two years later, still at the Turin Motor Show, Lancia and Touring presented a GT version of the Flaminia. Built on a wheelbase reduced from 2,870 to 2,520 cm, it was a Touring Superleggera with a thin steel tube frame clad in aluminium. The lines are elegant and the interior is bright thanks to a large rear window. The instrumentation is identical to that of the saloon, but the steering wheel is threespoke with a wooden rim. The elegant leather upholstery is distinguished by the design of the backrests with their three wide «cloverleaf» ribs. Under the bonnet is a 2.5 litre V6 engine available with single and triple carburettors, producing 119 and 140 bhp.

Renowned for its modern handling, its four disc brakes, de Dion rear axle and rear-mounted 4-speed gearbox make the Flaminia GT a well-balanced and extremely enjoyable car to drive. In 1962 a GTL version with two extra seats was offered and in 1963 the new 2.8 litre V6 was introduced. In the end, Touring produced 2,016 Coupes in all versions. Our Flaminia rolled off the assembly line on February 1, 1960, making it one of the first cars ever built. It had a Grigio Newmarket body and a Pelle Rosa (red leather) interior. Under the bonnet is the 2.5 litre V6 engine with a single carburettor| note that this is the original engine and that it runs freely.

This Italian car is an interesting basis for restoration. Some parts (rear lights and fittings) are disassembled and placed in the boot. The car does not have its bumpers (remanufactured ones are available on the market), nor its original steering wheel. It is accompanied by its Lancia Classiche and conformity certificates which will allow it to be registered after restoration.

This is a rare car in almost complete «out of the barn» condition, which will allow its new owner to undertake a restoration that will allow him to have a truly restored car, which is rare for this model, as the majority of cars on the market have only benefited from a paint job, but rarely from a bodywork restoration.
