For 1960, Zora Arkus-Duntov and his engineering team created nothing short of a track-tuned high-performance machine. New anti-sway bars and an aluminum clutch vastly improved the handling and performance capabilities of Chevrolet's roadster. Five small-block V-8s ranged from 230 to 315 brake horsepower in 1960, and the available transmissions included a two-speed Powerglide automatic and a four-speed manual unit. Stylistically, the 1958–1960 Corvettes represent the second-to-last iteration of the inaugural C1 Corvette platform, and it features the most intricate chrome detailing ever offered, along with numerous interior upgrades.
This example is a respectful older restoration finished in white with red vinyl upholstery. The brightwork is very good, and the paint application is of a high quality as well. The lovely red upholstery is accented by the red salt and pepper carpeting and a black vinyl top, all of which are in excellent overall condition. It is equipped with an AM radio and windshield washers. The underside has been nicely maintained, as has the engine and its bay. Given the very potent 270 brake horsepower V-8 engine with dual four-barrel carburetors mated to a four-speed manual transmission, this is definitely one car that is begging to be driven.
