This custom 1949 Bentley Mark VI Lawrencetune Special was built by Christopher Lawrence and noted as the final example. It is powered by a 4.5-liter Bentley Mark VI inline-6 engine paired with a manual transmission that has a center shift conversion with synchromesh on second, third and top. The interior is trimmed in Connolly leather with Wilton wool carpet and features full instrumentation, including a tachometer and an altimeter on a period-correct dashboard with an appropriate steering wheel. The exterior is constructed in the traditional manner with Rexine fabric over a hardwood frame and alloy panels.
It is equipped with genuine Marchal headlights with fender lamps and correct Lucas and Desmo cowl, driving and taillights, along with knock-off wire wheels and a folding white canvas top. Lawrence built approximately forty Mark VI based Specials between 1978 and 1985, with this example completed in 1985.
