Lanzante Turns the Bugatti Bolide Into a Road Car

The Bugatti Bolide was created as one of the world's most extreme track-only hypercars, but Lanzante Limited has now made it possible to drive one on public roads. The British engineering specialist has introduced a comprehensive road-legal conversion package, transforming Bugatti's 40-unit track exclusive into a machine that can legally leave the circuit.

Working alongside PRW Advanced Cooling Technology, Lanzante re-engineered key elements of the Bolide without compromising its extraordinary performance. The conversion includes integrated X-shaped LED projector headlights neatly housed within the front carbon-fiber aero channels, revised ground clearance to better handle public roads, and the replacement of the original Michelin racing slicks—worth around $8,000 per set—with fully road-approved tires.

Despite these modifications, the heart of the Bolide remains untouched. Its legendary 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine continues to produce an astonishing 1,578 horsepower (1,600 PS) and 1,180 lb-ft (1,600 Nm) of torque. Before the additional road equipment is installed, the hypercar weighs less than 3,200 pounds (1,451 kg), preserving the lightweight philosophy that made it one of the fastest track machines ever created.

The result is a vehicle that retains nearly all of its original character while meeting the requirements for street use. Owners can now experience one of Bugatti's most uncompromising creations beyond the race circuit, whether on scenic roads or even something as ordinary as a drive-thru.

Only 40 Bolides were originally produced, making every example exceptionally rare.
