When it was introduced, the MK 2 was considered “the fastest saloon in the world”, and with its 220 hp and four standard disc brakes, it could indeed reach speeds of over 200 km/h in complete safety and in the comfort of a lounge! These sporting saloons made their mark at the Rallye des Alpes, the Monte Carlo Rally, the Tour de France Automobile, the Liège-Rome-Liège and even the Tour de Corse. The car offered for sale, black with a Mulberry red leather interior, was registered in Germany in the 1990s and came to France via the specialist company Phoenix Cars in Tournai, first to Côte-d'Or and then to Paris.
It has undergone an extensive restoration, both mechanically and in terms of its upholstery. It is equipped with an automatic gearbox, a stainless-steel exhaust, power steering and an electric fan. In 2021, Cecil Cars garage rebuilt the brake servo and balanced the driveshaft. A file of invoices accompanies the car. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE STARTER CONTROL SYSTEM.
