Launched in 1993, the Ferrari 348 Spider was a long-awaited open-top sports car from the Modena-based marque. The new car bridged the 20-year gap to the last series production two-seater Ferrari soft-top, the Daytona Spider, which ceased production in 1973. Launched as the 348 coupé was upgraded, the 348 Spider ushered the open-top “Prancing Horse” into the 21st Century, with a stiff monocoque structure and a rear tubular sub-frame that significantly enhanced body rigidity with the roof removed. This striking Giallo Ferrari example was delivered new to Portugal, imported by Viauto – Automóveis Lda of Porto and delivered to its first owner in Santo Tirso on 10 November 1993. The Ferrari is fitted with a black soft-top roof, over a black leather-trimmed interior, and features front and rear fog lights, air conditioning, electric windows, and heated door mirrors. It is accompanied by its factory tool kit, tyre inflation kit, and a selection of owner’s manuals. This 348 Spider has been used sparingly from new, showing just 13,291 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing.
Lancée en 1993, la Ferrari 348 Spider était un cabriolet très attendu de la part du constructeur de Modène. Le nouveau modèle comblait un vide de 20 ans depuis la précédente carrosserie ouverte de la marque, la Daytona Spider dont la production s'était arrêtée en 1973. Dévoilée en même temps qu'une nouvelle version du coupé 348, la 348 Spider faisait entrer le "Cheval Cabré" dans le XXIème siècle avec une structure monocoque et un berceau tubulaire arrière qui améliorait la rigidité de la carrosserie de façon significative en l'absence de pavillon.
Ce nouveau châssis accueillait un V8 de 3 405 cm3 Tipo F119H à deux ACT par banc et lubrification par carter sec, développant 320 ch transmis aux roues arrière par l'intermédiaire d'une boîte manuelle à 5 rapports avec levier guidé par une grille métallique, et un pont autobloquant.
Ce superbe exemplaire "Giallo Ferrari" a été exporté neuf au Portugal, par l'intermédiaire de Viauto - Automóveis Lda, de Porto, et livré à son premier propriétaire le 10 novembre 1993 à Santo Tirso. Cette Ferrari est dotée d'une capote noire, d'une sellerie en cuir noir, de feux de brouillard avant et arrière, d'une climatisation, de vitres électriques et de rétroviseurs extérieurs chauffant. Elle est accompagnée de sa boîte à outils d'origine, de son kit de gonflage de pneus et d'un ensemble de manuels d'utilisation. Cette 348 Spider n'a été utilisée qu'avec parcimonie depuis l'origine et son compteur n'affichait que 13 291 km lors de la rédaction de ce catalogue.
