This 1989 BMW M3 Evolution II is finished in an original Misano Red and preserved as No. 102 of 500 Evolution II units built for the model year. It epitomizes BMW's dedication to performance and homologation for racing, featuring a reengineered 2.3-liter S14 inline-4 engine paired with a dogleg 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Distinctive upgrades unique to the Evolution Series include lighter side and rear glass, redesigned bodywork with added front brake ducts, and spoilers for enhanced aerodynamics and weight reduction, all of which are factory-installed on this model.
This particular example underwent significant maintenance before its 2022 U.S. importation, including a complete engine overhaul and the replacement of critical components like the timing chain, clutch master cylinder, heater valve and driveshaft flex discs.
