The 1981 Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.6 is a stylish Italian saloon known for its distinctive wedge-shaped design and spirited driving experience. Powered by a 1.6 litre twin-cam inline-four engine, it delivered around 104hp, offering brisk performance for its class. Rear-wheel drive and a well-balanced chassis made it engaging to drive. Its sharp handling and classic Alfa character appealed to enthusiasts. The Giulietta 1.6 combined practicality with flair, embodying Alfa Romeo’s unique blend of performance and style in the early '80s.
This 1.6 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Type 116 is exceptionally original and unique. We are informed that it has always been kept in an internal garage from new, this example has none of the rust and corrosion that you would expect to find on any car from this era. The underside and bodywork are in exceptional condition and the paintwork appears to be very genuine with one or two very minor blemishes and to keep the car as original as possible the vendor has decided to leave these alone. The same can be said for the interior which has held up magnificently well for a car that is 44 years old. Finished in classic beige 1980's velour, all the seats, headlining and carpet are in very good condition.
The same can be said of the plastic trim which appears to be in good order throughout. The car even features its original period radio, with the instruction book still present. Having covered very little mileage in the last few years the car has had an engine and brake service and tune up and new master and slave clutch cylinder fitted. We are informed that the car runs and drives nicely and has a recent MoT test certificate. The speedometer and tachometer have recently stopped working however the other dials all work. There is a lot of paperwork including all the original folder and handbook, old MoT test certificates, service coupon book and many other invoices.
