With five European Touring Car Championship manufacturer’s titles between 1965 and 1972, the Alfa Romeo GTA (and its GTAm derivative) sits comfortably alongside the Mini Cooper, Lotus Cortina and BMW M3 as one of the all-time Touring Car greats.

This GTA was delivered to a Mr Monneret in November of 1965, with whom it remained until 1970. Although the second owner is unknown, it is thought that this is when the engine was replaced. By 1972, when Guy Jeunet purchased the vehicle, it was no longer equipped with the original engine. Between 1975 and 1990, the GTA sat dormant in French dealership Cuynet, before spending another eight years in a family garage.

Upon being purchased by the current owner, the GTA was in need of restoration. The car was completely disassembled, checked over and all parts cleaned and replaced where needed. With body, suspension and brakes upgraded to prepare the GTA for the circuit, the vehicle today conforms to FIA specification and was previously awarded a Historical Technical Passport. With the details completed, the GTA went on to compete in the 2014 Tour Auto.

Complete with restoration details and the previous FIA passport, this Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA is ready and waiting for the next owner to step into the driver’s seat.
