One of around 12 press vehicles built to showcase the Range Rover Autobiography programme, this early '13001' SVO-built P38 is an appealing and well maintained example of the rare JOP edition. In April 1999, Land Rover built a limited run of around 12 Range Rover 4.6 Autobiography press vehicles to showcase the personalisation programme. All were registered on consecutive JOP registration numbers, beginning with T520 JOP. Built at Land Rover Special Vehicles, Lode Lane, Solihull, standard SVO address, this P38 Autobiography wears plaque 13001, believed to be the first car in its Autobiography contract batch (Contract 13), making it a particularly early/interesting example within that run.
Each example came fitted with Philips CARiN satellite navigation, Deluxe-specification Burr Walnut trim and Cheshire grade leather. Recent works include a new starter motor, new battery, replacement rear suspension air bags, new copper brake lines, new bushes and drop links, Lanoguard protection applied underneath, and freshly powder coated wheels. Supplied with its original book pack including the stamped service book, early sales literature, original tow bar and double outlet, full jacking kit and rare intact rear-view mirror, along with invoices, previous MOTs and both keys.
This P38 presents as a rare, well kept example of the JOP edition, appealing to collectors and enthusiasts of the model.
