  • Titre de circulation allemand
  • Moteur n° P-0177
  • Le 188ème exemplaire produit
  • Restauration récente de grande qualité
  • Couleurs d'origine

German title - The 188th car built - Recent high-quality restoration - Original colours According to its 'Kardex' document, this 356 left the factory on 14 October 1950, making it one of the first cars built and the most sought-after by connoisseurs. The Porsche 356 was presented at the 1949 Geneva Motor Show, and the first examples were sold during 1950. The example presented here is therefore the 188th car built and was delivered new on 14 october 1950. It was bought by the company Südbad Automobilgesellschaft. in Freiburg, Germany, and it subsequently returned to the factory for an inspection at 1706km on 6 April 1951.

Numerous papers then document the different changes of ownership in Germany and later in Austria. Its current owner, a leading collector and connoisseur of the model, acquired the car in 2014 and had a complete, high-quality restoration carried out, as can be seen from the photos. The body was completely stripped bare, before being restored and resprayed in its original elegant black (using nitrocellulose paint), while the interior was retrimmed in dark red cloth, just as when it left the factory. The original engine (no. 228) was no longer with the car in 1964, but a similar engine, with a block in 2 parts, was entirely rebuilt and installed in the car.

Naturally, the running gear and electrical system were restored. The result is to a very high standard and sets off this historically interesting example particularly well; it has covered only 6km since it was brought back to life. A true museum piece, supplied with numerous documents, this 356 deserves to join a very select collection. Photos © Philipp Löhmann
