Introduced at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, the Aston Martin DB11 served as an evolution of the DB9 where its predecessor’s aluminum platform chassis was lightened and stiffened, while the Marek Riechman-designed body utilized both aluminum and composite materials to lower overall weight. Under the hood, the new DB11 came with either a 4.0L twin-turbocharged Mercedes-Benz V-8 engine or a 5.2L Aston Martin-built V-12, mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. In 2017, Aston Martin introduced a convertible version of the DB11, called the Volante.
The Volante came equipped with the twin-turbocharged Mercedes V-8 engine that produced 503 HP and 513 lb-ft of torque, enabling the DB11 Volante to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 181 MPH. The example on offer is one of just 525 hand-built Aston Martin DB11 Volantes constructed in 2020.
