    Ferrari 360 Spider, 2003

Chassis No.: ZFFYT53A130131620 • Exterior: Rosso Corso • Interior: Cuoio Naturale • Finished in unmarked Rosso Corsa with Cuoio Naturale leather interior • 3.6L DOHC 40V all aluminum V-8 engine • 6-speed F1 paddle shifted transmission • Drilled, slotted and grooved vented brake discs • Rosso color coded brake calipers • Factory 18-inch Ferrari alloy wheels with Continental low profile tires • Scuderia fender badges • Color coded tail light panel When Ferrari introduced the 360 Modena in the late 1990s, it created quite a stir. It broke from many styling traditions and forged a new trail for future Ferraris to follow. The hidden, pop-up headlights were gone, replaced by headlights under clear lenses. The sharper, creased edges leading to subtle curves were largely ousted by mostly subtle curves with a few creases. Flat surfaces were nearly nil. Internally, a new frame was made of Alcoa Aluminum and provided decreased weight and increased stiffness. In fact, the 360 Modena weighed just a gnat’s hair over 3,000 pounds. The new 3.6L DOHC aluminum V-8 engine revved with blinding eagerness and spun to over 8,000 RPM quickly, thrusting the Ferrari from 0-60 MPH in just a touch over 4 seconds with a top speed nearing 200 MPH. It was a spectacular way to succeed the outgoing F355. Just a few months after the Modena was introduced, the 360 Spider joined the family with an open-top glory that seems too fitting for a Ferrari. Spiders outsold Modenas by a small margin throughout production history, which ceased in 2005. This 2003 360 Spider is finished in “unmarked Rosso Corsa,” an exciting way to describe any paint job. The look is furthered with the Scuderia fender badges and a Rosso color-coded tail light panel and Rosso color-coded brake calipers behind factory, silver-painted, 18-inch, alloy wheels with low-profile Continental tires. The 3.6L DOHC 40V all-aluminum V-8 engine is paired with the optional 6-speed F1 paddle-shifted transmission; 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes with cross-drilled and slotted rotors and Rosso color-colored brake calipers scrub off speed with exceeding efficiency. The bucket seats are reminiscent of the Daytona pattern, and the interior is upholstered with Cuoio Naturale leather, further featuring a black-topped dashboard and steering wheel, as well as a silver center console. https://www.mecum.com/lots/520664/2003-ferrari-360-spider/

    Ferrari 360 Spider, 2003

Chassis No.: ZFFYT53A130131620 $93,500 | Sold • Odometer: 14,002 miles • Engine: V-8 • Transmission: Automatic • Exterior: Rosso Corsa • Interior: Cuoio Naturale • Body: Spider • Finished in Rosso Corsa with Cuoio Naturale leather interior • Odometer reads 14,002 miles • 3.6L DOHC 40V all aluminum V-8 engine • 6-speed F1 Graziano automated manual with paddle shifters • Drilled, slotted and grooved vented brake discs • Rosso color coded brake calipers • Factory 18-inch Ferrari alloy wheels with Continental low profile tires • Scuderia fender badges • Color coded tail light panel Named after Enzo Ferrari’s birthplace and the home of his legendary company, the 360 Modena launched in July 1999 to members of the American motoring press as the successor to the outgoing and highly regarded F355. The product of a four-year development cycle, including over 5,000 hours of wind-tunnel testing alone, the 360 Modena delivered stunning 183 MPH performance with its mid-mounted all-alloy, DOHC 3586cc V-8 engine bristling with Ferrari’s legendary race-proven engineering wizardry. In 2000, the 360 Modena came for the first time with the lightning-quick, race-derived F1 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters for manual shifting as desired. Immediately upon introduction, the 360 Modena silenced any lingering doubters by lapping Ferrari’s Fiorano test circuit some 3 seconds quicker than the outgoing F355 and even out-accelerating Porsche’s vaunted twin-turbo, all-wheel drive 959. Not only did the 360 Modena redefine Ferrari V-8 road cars at its debut, but it also remains one of the finest modern exotic sports cars today, and its handsome body design pays silent homage to the 246 GT Dino of the early 1970s. A success for its maker, 360 production included 2,389 U.S.-sold Spiders. Finished in Ferrari’s signature Rosso Corsa, complemented by a Cuoio Naturale leather interior, this 2003 360 Spider’s odometer reads 14,002 miles at the time of writing. Power is delivered by a 3.6L DOHC 40V all aluminum V-8 engine and Ferrari’s race-derived, single-clutch F1 6-speed paddle-shifted transmission, a powerful combination that is harnessed by 4-wheel disc brakes incorporating drilled, slotted and grooved, vented brake discs and Rosso color-coded brake calipers. Riding on factory 18-inch Ferrari alloy wheels mounting Continental low-profile tires, this open-air 360 Spider also features iconic Scuderia Ferrari front-fender badges and a color-coded tail light panel. https://www.mecum.com/lots/1148960/2003-ferrari-360-spider/
