Chassis No.: WF0BXXGCABLY32125 Registration: H722 URB • In current ownership since 2016 • Highly sought-after classic • Dry-stored as part of a private collection Following the success of the earlier RS Turbo, the Series 2 variant was developed as a more refined and road-focused proposition, improving upon the raw, homologation-led character of its predecessor. Retaining the 1,600cc fuel-injected CVH engine, the S2 benefits from the fitment of a water-cooled Garrett T3 turbocharger, alongside revised engine management, an improved KE-Jetronic fuel injection system and a larger intercooler. Further enhancements included lower overall gearing, an uprated gearbox incorporating a limited-slip differential, and a larger clutch. Suspension and chassis revisions comprising stiffer springs, uprated anti-roll bars, mechanical ABS, and larger brakes resulted in a car that was not only more composed but also more exploitable in everyday driving conditions. Producing 132bhp at 5,750rpm the Series II offered strong real-world performance, achieving 0-60mph in 8.3 seconds and a top speed of approximately 125mph. Despite marginally lower headline figures than the Series I, it is widely regarded as the more capable and effective car. First registered on 1st August 1990, this example is presented in Radiant Red, complemented by a grey cloth Recaro interior, which remains in excellent condition and is a testament to the car’s careful ownership. Showing just over 49,300 miles, this RS Turbo has formed part of a private collection since 2016, during which time it has seen minimal use and has effectively been stored, albeit with ongoing maintenance including regular oil and filter changes. The car has recently been serviced and subjected to a full health check, in addition to a comprehensive professional detail, ensuring it presents extremely well. It is also noted that the vehicle was a member of the Ford RS Owners’ Club in 2012, further supporting its enthusiast credentials.
