A UK-supplied, right-hand drive 944 Turbo with 45,701 miles from new and benefiting from substantial recent investment by our vendor. A turbo version of the 944 was always on the cards and for the 1985 model year, Porsche introduced the 944 Turbo, known internally as the 951. Forced induction boosted the 2.5-litre engine by a healthy 60bhp, up to 217bhp, with the clutch and gearbox uprated to suit. The Turbo also featured several other changes, such as improved aerodynamics, notably an integrated front bumper, standard external oil coolers for both the engine and transmission, standard 16" wheels (optional forged Fuchs alloys) and a slightly stiffer suspension set-up.
The Turbo's front and rear brakes were borrowed from the Porsche 911, with Brembo 4-piston fixed calipers and 12" discs and ABS were also standard. This C-16 right-hand drive 944 Turbo was originally supplied by JCT600 Porsche Leeds and first registered on 1st January 1986. It's very well presented having been refinished in its original Alpine White (2023/24) with its freshly retrimmed red leather interior (carried out in 2024 by a respected car trimmer). It has covered just under 46,000 miles and has benefited from over £8,000 of expenditure in the last 14 months by a Porsche specialist including recommissioning, a major service and a cambelt change.
The service history includes ten stamps in the UK prior to the car moving to Spain with a further four added over there all detailed in the car's history file alongside six separate Spanish documents confirming the mileage. The car was off the road in 2016 and returned to the UK in 2021 when the decision was made to return it to top form with a full body respray in its original colour and the aforementioned recommission at an independent Porsche specialist. The final touch was the recent full retrim in glorious red leather (replicating the car's original colour), four new tyres and a fresh MOT valid until April 2025.
