  • Variant: 2nd Generation Coupe Manual
  • Transmission: Manual
  • Body Colour: Basalt Black

Increasingly recognised as a future classic, the 6-speed manual gearbox 997.2 Carrera S occupies a sweet spot in the 911 timeline — offering modern usability, timeless design and an unfiltered driving experience. The second generation Porsche 911 Carrera S (997.2) is increasingly recognised as one of the most desirable modern-era 911s — blending the sharp, analogue driving feel so closely associated with classic Porsches, with the refinement and reliability introduced in the updated 997.2 platform.

This example benefits from the highly sought after 6-speed manual transmission, a specification that continues to resonate strongly with purists and collectors for its mechanical engagement and long term appeal. Powered by the revised 3.8-litre direct-injection flat-six engine, the Carrera S produces 385bhp delivering enhanced performance, improved efficiency and a more responsive character compared to its predecessor. The manual gearbox enables the driver to fully enjoy the car’s naturally aspirated powerband and the balanced, rear-engined chassis that lies at the heart of the 911 experience.

Visually restrained yet unmistakably purposeful, the 997.2 Carrera S is distinguished by subtle but important updates, including LED rear lights, a redesigned front bumper and the introduction of Porsche’s updated PCM infotainment system in the cabin. As the last naturally aspirated, compact-bodied 911 before the arrival of the turbocharged 991 generation, the 997.2 occupies a unique and increasingly celebrated position in the 911 lineage, making it a standout choice for collectors and drivers alike. Iconic Auctioneers are pleased to offer for auction at Supercar Fest 2025 this rare and desirable, second-generation 997 Carrera S specified with the sought after 6-speed manual transmission.

Finished in timeless Basalt Black Metallic with an extended black leather interior and black carpets, the car presents in a highly attractive and cohesive triple black colour scheme. A UK-supplied (C16), right-hand drive example, it was delivered new by Porsche Centre London and first registered in April 2009. The car was well specified, with factory options including, Sport Chrono Package, Bose Surround Sound System, 19" Sports lightweight wheels, 12-way electric sports seats with lumbar support and two-stage heating, rear wiper, coloured wheel centre caps, top-tinted windscreen, European Satellite Navigation, rear ParkAssist and a sunshine roof.

Offered from a private Collection, this 911 was sourced by a long term Porsche enthusiast as a low ownership, well maintained example. It has had just two previous owners from new and has now covered only 53,289 miles. The accompanying service history confirms regular maintenance, carried out primarily by Porsche main dealers, with one service completed by a respected Porsche specialist. An over-rev report was carried out upon the seller's purchase four years ago, which they state indicated no issues, shortly after this it was fitted with a new clutch and Scorpion tracker.

The car is accompanied by its original book pack including a stamped service book, with the most recent service carried out by Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield at 51,963 miles in December 2022. Since then, it has seen only minimal use, limited to MOT tests and a brake fluid change. During current ownership, the vehicle has been dry stored in a temperature-controlled facility, ensuring continued preservation. Well maintained and highly original, this 997.2 manual Carrera S offers a rather rare opportunity to acquire one of the most engaging and well balanced modern 911s, presented in a superb specification and ideal for both driving enjoyment and long term collectability.
