This rare Packard Custom Eight Convertible is one of only 85 examples produced in 1950, and represents one of the most attractive and luxurious Packard styles available during this period.

The Custom Eight has many features including the eggcrate grille, pelican hood ornament, and extended chrome belt moldings that loop around the trunk. This beautifully restored example features a striking blue over red leather and tan Bedford cloth upholstery, a fitting and appropriate color scheme for this luxurious model. Additional features include power windows – a truly decadent feature in 1950 – and Packard’s Ultramatic automatic transmission, which became standard on the Custom Eight by this year. The transmission is paired to a 356-cid, 160-hp L-head straight eight-cylinder engine. This very well presented car is enthusiast owned and has resided in a collection with other Packards and American classics in Northern California for the last several years.

It has received a very attractive restoration back to the way it might have appeared on a Packard showroom floor in period. Brightwork is in fine order throughout and the engine bay has been restored with correct finishes. It is apparent that restoration was handled without regard to expense, and the finished product is truly a magnificent thing to behold. A very capable runner, this Packard is worthy of serious consideration as one of the nicest postwar Packards available today.
