  • Collection of a prominent Parisian businessman
  • French registration document
  • Chassis no. 10702612000886
  • Engine no. 11796012000914
  • The most desirable and rarest of the W107 coupés
  • 1,636 examples fitted with the 5.0 L, 240 hp engine
  • A classic suitable for everyday use, with service book

Unveiled at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 5.0-litre SLC was produced from 1979 to 1981. The first models fitted with the all-new, all-aluminium 5,025 cc V8 engine are even rarer than those produced later, as their displacement is some 52 cc greater. Launched in 1972, the W107 represented the top of the Mercedes range for 20 years. It distinguished itself in the exceptionally demanding Bandama Rally, winning twice, in 1979 and 1980. The car offered for sale, delivered by Mercedes Longchamp in Paris, is presented in a very elegant colour combination: metallic anthracite grey bodywork, complemented by a beige wool Pullman interior and enhanced by a Nardi steering wheel.

As befits the model, the boot lid bears a 5.0 badge and a spoiler screwed onto its edge. The bonnet panels on this exclusive model are made of aluminium and are very well aligned. It comes with its owner's manual and service book, regularly stamped from 1979 to 2003, documenting an overhaul of the cylinder heads and replacement of the injection distributor, injectors, fuel pump and all four shock absorbers. The automatic gearbox was reconditioned in 2018 at International Wagen Company, and a few invoices accompany this elegant coupé, but the air-conditioning system will need to be recharged with refrigerant.
