British car manufacturer Lotus made the Esprit from 1976-2004. In 1987, the Esprit underwent a redesign by Peter Stevens for its 4th generation. It was often known by its project code of X180. A new Lotus patented process was introduced to create the new body called the VARI (Vacuum Assisted Resin Injection) process, which offered more advantages than the previous hand-laid process. Kevlar reinforcement was added to the roof and sides for roll-over protection. The Stevens-styled cars retained the mechanical components of the previous high-compression Esprit and turbo Esprit, but introduced a stronger Renault transaxle.

The exterior style changes were accompanied by a redesign of the interior, allowing more room for the driver and passengers. This Lotus has great ride and performance. It has been well cared for. The original owner's handbook is included with purchase. The black exterior paint shows well. This Lotus comes equipped with power windows. The sports car sits on four Lotus alloy wheels wrapped in Firestone Firehawk tires. Under the hood, you'll see where this car gets its 'turbo' moniker.
