Nestled into an aluminum chassis is a 4.3L V-8 mounted behind the front axle for an optimal 47-53 front-to-rear weight distribution. With variable intake and exhaust-valve timing, direct injection and a 12.2:1 compression ratio, the engine is rated for 460 HP at 7,750 RPM. The Getrag dual-clutch 7-speed automated manual gearbox sends power through the limited-slip differential and rear wheels. Double-wishbone front and multi-link rear independent suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars meet speed-sensitive power rack-and-pinion steering for grand-touring road control. Brembo carbon-ceramic disc brakes with yellow calipers slow the California from speed.
The Pininfarina-designed aluminum body is finished in white, punctuated by Scuderia shields. White leather with contrasting red stitching envelops the four-place interior from the door panels to the 6-way power-adjustable ventilated bucket seats and steering wheel. Centered in the aluminum-trimmed dash is a 6.5-inch touch screen with integrated navigation and an entertainment center with Bluetooth connectivity and steering wheel controls.
