Ferrari returned to its roots with the 1996 introduction of the 550 Maranello, its first front-engined V-12 grand touring berlinetta in two decades, during which the mid-engined 12-cylinder Berlinetta Boxer and Testarossa dominated as the company flagship vehicles. Named after its 5.5L displacement and Enzo Ferrari’s birthplace, the 550 featured elegant Pininfarina styling in the classic long hood, short tail motif and retro-inspired details including covered headlights, a scooped hood, front fender vents, twin round tail lights and an airy greenhouse. This handsome Nero on Nero 2000 550 Maranello coupe is offered with an odometer reading of just 11,172 miles.
Fresh from a recent service, it features the 5.5L V-12 engine boasting 48 overhead cam-actuated valves, dry sump lubrication, Bosch Motronic engine management and Tubi tuned exhaust, delivering 478 HP and 419 lb-ft of torque to a rear-mounted 6-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential.
