This 2001 Bentley Continental R420 Widebody is one of 18 “factory hot rods” built for the 2001 model year. Each car was specially commissioned, optioned and numbered for the owner 1 through 19 (there is no #13 car); this fine example being number 17. The car is elegantly finished black with black Connolly hides trimmed with elegant green piping. The car is powered by a 6.75-liter, 420-hp turbocharged V-8 engine.

The $328,000 base price when new included the wider Continental “T” based wheel arches to accommodate 18 inch five-spoke alloy wheels shod with special low profile tires developed for this model (in this case Pirelli P Zero), chrome shift gate with unique “420” handle, drilled alloy pedals, Continental “T” dashboard with pushbutton starter; Mulliner tuned suspension, steering and brakes with red calipers. With the extras on this car; it was purchased for $350,000 when brand new .
