Subaru Impreza WRX Sti Spec. D Limited, 2006
Chassis No.: JF1GDFKH36G052231 Engine No.: 695286 Registration: RO06 ACU The WRX (World Rally eXperimental) flat-four engine is turbocharged and develops around 235bhp in initial trim. Relatively modest by today’s standards but anything but in-period and its lively engine is mated to a manual gearbox and a sophisticated four-wheel-drive system. A relatively lightweight car, it took the motoring world by storm. Rally win followed rally win - and the Brits wanted a piece of the action, importing both saloon and hatchback variants by the container load. The second-generation cars, available from 2000, officially boasted between 261bhp and 276bhp depending on the model, enough to propel the 1,360kg Impreza to a top speed of over 150mph via a 0-62mph time of under five seconds. Rallying legends such as Colin McRae and Richard Burns took the already potent Impreza STi and turned it into an iconic machine, the likes of which we will probably never see again. On a performance-per-pound basis they were extraordinarily cheap when they were new, and a series of upgrades and model changes that encouraged owners to change their cars more frequently than they might otherwise have done, meaning they depreciated even more quickly than your usual performance car. Originally registered on 23rd March 2006 this Subaru presents in great condition. Finished in silver with black leather interior, this is a Spec. D Limited Edition example, of which only 300 were manufactured for the UK market. This Impreza is in its standard guise and has clearly been very well looked after by its two private keepers, with 14 service stamps in the book and having had two cambelt changes. The wheels have recently been refurbished and are shod with Pirelli tyres. Supplied with a V5C registration document, two original keys and the book pack, together with the PIN protected security system, this is a great opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic Subaru cars ever made. https://www.historics.co.uk/auction/lot/?lot=3523&au=72

Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type UK-Auction Lot, 2005
Chassis No.: JF1GDBKH35G053185 Engine No.: 378971 Not Sold • Transmission: Manual • Body Colour: World Rally Blue UK-supplied and perhaps one of the finest examples available with under 19,000 miles covered by just one owner-driver from new. Entering the World Rally Championship in 1980, it took Subaru seven years to get a podium, with a third at the New Zealand Rally of 1987. Predicting the domination of the sport by Subaru in the following decades would’ve been considered lunacy by many however, Team Principal Dave Richards and his Prodrive engineers shaped the Legacy of Subaru, pardon the pun, and Subaru, with the Impreza that followed becoming a legend on the gravel, piloted by the much missed Colin McRae and Richard Burns amongst other international names. Heavily modified examples of the Impreza, usually imported from Japan, are often heard before they are seen on British roads, but UK-supplied, unmodified cars are a much more subtle proposition and therefore highly sought after. The rally-engineered, limited-edition WRX models were bought by wealthy enthusiasts and coveted by fans and consequently the WRX has an almost cult-like following today with values across all model ranges reflecting the demand. The styling of the second-generation WRX received mixed reviews at launch and was swiftly nicknamed the “Bugeye”, however, a better received face-lifted version was launched in 2004 a much more handsome car which was to remain in production for the following two years. Under the bonnet was a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, four-cylinder boxer engine, delivering around 261 bhp to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. This Impreza WRX STi Type UK was sold to its first and only registered keeper on the 25th November 2005 and is offered to auction with just 18,962 miles from new, at the time of cataloguing. It's finished in the model’s classic hue of World Rally Blue over a blue and black cloth and Alacantara-style trimmed cabin and sits on a correct set of 17-inch 10-spoke gold alloy wheels, framing gold Brembo brake callipers and shod with Bridgestone Potenza tyres. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, a retrofitted Sony DAB stereo with a USB port, and a PSi3 Advanced Vehicle ECU Data Monitor. An aftermarket stainless-steel exhaust, ‘Ganador’-style door mirrors, TEIN suspension dampers, and Defi oil pressure, temperature and boost gauges have also been fitted. The car is accompanied by its original owner’s book pack, service book, V5C, various maintenance receipts and invoices, previous MOT Certificates, the most recent valid until April 2023, and two keys plus a remote fob. The cherished and appropriate registration 'SR04 WRC' is included in the sale. This car ticks so many boxes in terms of rarity, mileage, condition and ownership it could easily fit into a private collection of important motorcars, however, we feel it would be so much better if it was cherished by a true enthusiast for occasional spirited driving, which is exactly what it was designed to do. https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/2005-subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-rec11365-1-sywell-0522?pn=0&el=18082&pp=0
