It will make its first appearance on the Rally of Morocco in September 2016. Apart from the name, the 3008 DKR obviously has nothing to do with the production version of the Peugeot 3008. Tall as a man, wider than a Lamborghini Aventador and no longer than a compact sedan, it’s a fierce and intimidating monster. The 3008 DKR is also a technologically advanced monster, with a super imposing size and a total weight of only 1580 kg. The tubular frame is made of steel and all the body parts are made of carbon fiber. Every detail is thought out according to the constraints of the race and the evolution of the course. Nevertheless, this does not prevent the Peugeot Sport teams from capitalizing on proven technologies. Thus, a part of the electronics of the Peugeot 908 was recovered. The 3008 DKR is equipped with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo diesel V6 engine with 350 bhp located in mid rear position. The 800 Nm of torque it generates are transmitted to the rear wheels alone by means of a sequentially controlled 6-speed gearbox. Faced with its main rivals, Mini and Toyota, the Peugeot Sport teams did not have an easy race. Nevertheless, the French team was able to rely on its experience gained in previous editions, allowing it to win the 2017 edition with Stéphane Peterhansel and 2018 with Carlos Sainz. It is at the wheel of the car that we present that they win 4 of the 10 stages of the rally, forming the most performing crew of the competition.
